He was born and raised in China.

Player Uzi made his debut with the Chinese team Royal Club in 2012. He went on to bag two consecutive second-place wins at the League of Legends World Championship in both 2013 and 2014.

American rapper Lil Uzi Vert credited his alias as a tribute to the Chinese AD Carry.

Player Uzi announced his retirement from professional play on Weibo on June 3, 2020, citing poor personal health issues. He quoted “staying up late for years, a fatty diet and being under insurmountable stress, last year I found out that I was type-2 diabetic.”

After a hiatus of a year, Uzi announced on December 15, 2021, that he would be returning to play with BLG (Bilibili Gaming) as an AD player.
