Former America’s Next Top Model host, Janice Dickinson, has had a very interesting career since making her debut nearly 40 years ago. By the late 1970s, less than a decade after beginning, Dickinson had already found steady work as a model. Dickinson quickly achieved supermodel status, and became well-known throughout the international modeling world. Since retiring from modeling, Dickinson has embarked on several other adventures, and has even made numerous TV appearances. In 2006, she landed her own reality show titled, The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency, which focused on her attempting to start a career as a modeling agent. However, after just four seasons, the show was cancelled.
Over the course of her career, Dickinson has worked hard to remain a relevant presence in modeling and fashion; however, her talents don’t lie solely within the modeling world. 5. Janice Dickinson once dated Sylvester Stallone.
During the 1990s, Janice Dickinson was briefly engaged to Rocky star, Sylvester Stallone. At the time, Dickinson believed that Stallone was the father of her daughter, Savannah; however, a DNA test eventually proved otherwise. Upon receiving the news, Stallone immediately broke dumped Dickinson. However, in the years since their split, Stallone and Dickinson have had several disagreements. In 1994, Stallone discussed his feelings on the circumstances regarded the couple’s breakup . He stated: “The baby wasn’t mine, the mother was a pathological liar and I had never felt so humiliated in my life.” Stallone went on to say that he’d never “met a more ruthless, calculating” person. In 2008, Dickinson began spreading rumors that Stallone had taken steroids. Dickinson also alleged that Stallone injected her with steroids as well. She stated: ““I’d wake up and my arm was as big as Popeye – steroids, testosterone, all that stuff that people say [mimicking Stallone voice], ‘Hey, it’s not that good ’cause you get really big, you know what I mean?” However, Stallone refuted all of her allegations.

According to Janice Dickson, she was the world’s first supermodel. Dickinson, who believes that she coined the term, published a book, No Lifeguard on Duty: The Accidental Life of the World’s First Supermodel, which chronicles her life as a young woman in the modeling industry. However, history proves that the term “supermodel” was in existence long before Dickinson came along, and several other models have been credited as the first supermodel.
3. Janice Dickinson has feuded with Tyra Banks.
In 2003, Janice Dickinson was re-introduced to the world when she was hired as a judge on Tyra Banks’ competition show, America’s Next Top Model. However, drama quickly ensued when Dickinson was fired after the show’s fourth season. Dickinson quickly began firing off disrespectful remarks towards Tyra, and also made statements addressing the show. In 2011, she made comments suggesting that the show was rigged, and stated: “Cover Girl are the people who choose the model. Not any of the judges; not what Tyra says. It’s who Cover Girl thinks should win each season…It’s rigged.” In 2012, Dickinson continued to be critical of her former boss when she described Tyra as “soulless, heartless, and cold.” However, in 2014, Dickinson decided to turn over a new leaf and apologize to Tyra for all of the things that she had said over the years. Dickinson issued an apology stating: “I just want to take this time to apologize to Tyra, and say I’m terribly sorry for any of the antagonistic things I’ve said about her in the past. It was just because I was hurt from being fired from the show.”
2. Janice Dickinson has recorded a song.
In 2009, Janice Dickinson recorded a song titled, “Crazy.” Although the song was never released in its entirety, the clip adequately paints a picture of Dickinson’s somewhat crazy nature. During an interview in which she was asked about the song, she stated: “Well I’m… crazy. You’re crazy. We’re all crazy together…So, just energy, dance music — rock on.”

Janice Dickinson is well-known for speaking her mind, so it should come as no surprise that she has had a few choice works for the equally as controversial Kardashian clan. During an interview with Radar Online, Dickinson discussed her overall disgust with the Kardashian family and shared that she felt like the Kardashians had “ruined” TV. Dickinson then went on to give several reasons why, including: “Rob designs socks? Anyone that buys anything from anything from the Kardashians should be shot. They are not Americans. They are un-American! They are Anti-American.”
